Quran 2:237 from Surah Al-Baqara on Divine Marvels.
وَإِن طَلَّقۡتُمُوهُنَّ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن تَمَسُّوهُنَّ وَقَدۡ فَرَضۡتُمۡ لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةٗ فَنِصۡفُ مَا فَرَضۡتُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يَعۡفُونَ أَوۡ يَعۡفُوَاْ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِۦ عُقۡدَةُ ٱلنِّكَاحِۚ وَأَن تَعۡفُوٓاْ أَقۡرَبُ لِلتَّقۡوَىٰۚ وَلَا تَنسَوُاْ ٱلۡفَضۡلَ بَيۡنَكُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
English translation: And if you divorce them from before [that] you (have) touched them while already you have specified for them an obligation (dower) then (give) half (of) what you have specified unless [that] they (women) forgo (it) or forgoes the one in whose hands (is the) knot (of) the marriage And that you forgo (is) nearer to [the] righteousness And (do) not forget the graciousness among you Indeed Allah of what you do (is) All-Seer
Transliteration: wa-in tallaqtumuhunna min qabli an tamassuhunna waqad faradtum lahunna faridatan fanis'fu ma faradtum illa an ya'funa aw ya'fuwa alladhi biyadihi uq'datu al-nikahi wa-an ta'fu aqrabu lilttaqwa wala tansawu al-fadla baynakum inna al-laha bima ta'maluna basirun
